Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Quetta Balochistan


The Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta - Balochistan was established in the year 2000. There were 23 pioneer members who initially took part in the process. The business community of the province after going through a lot of hardship and difficulties for resolving their business disputes and settle their problems with various Government, Semi government and Private Institutions in the country and out side the country felt the need of a body to look after all these matters representing the business community. The chamber was registered with Director Trade Organization, Government of Pakistan Islamabad under section 3 of the Trade Organization Ordinance, 1961 on 12th March 1973 with their Memorandum and Article of Association published and registered. Initially it was established in a small building at Jinnah Road, Quetta, which later shifted to another building and remained working there for about 17 years. The first election of the Chamber was convened. During this period efforts were made to construct a separate building for the Chamber. Former President of Pakistan General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq (late) was approached and requested for allotment of a piece of land for the Chamber building, which he generously accepted and a piece of land on main Zarghoon Road, Quetta-Cantt, was allotted for Chamber building During the construction of building then approached the Government of Balochistan for some financial assistance. The then Governor Balochistan General Muhammad Musa and Secretary Finance Mr. Sr. R. Poonegar, accepting their request, granted a sum of rupees One Million for the construction of the Chamber building. The building was constructed and completed in the year 1989-90. The Chamber shifted in the new building and started its work in the year 1990.
